Enter the URL of your favorite web site in the URL box and click "Read my Beads." iBitch will load the HTML file and parse the Body tag's various color attributes, and display the resulting color combinations. Then iBitch will load the specified background file and analyze its luminosity range.
The most important measure of a background image is the standard deviation of its luminosity values, which for a low-contrast image should be less than 10.
Gotchas: the following things will cause weird things to happen:
- incorrect URL
- incorrect background image URL
- missing Body tag
- missing Background Image attribute
- style sheets, frames, and tables
Future versions of iBitch will have these features:
- analyze the image color gamut
- analyze text color attributes in context of the image color gamut
- look for offensive tags such as blink
- handle cascading style sheets, frames, and tables
